Jianyang Mei is an Exploratory Preference Advisor for the Academic Interest Area of STEM, Agriculture, and Environment. Jianyang was an international student at MSU and earned a master’s and Ph.D. degree in Higher, Adult, and Lifelong Education here. If you have any questions, Jianyang is here to support you. What do you like the most about being an advisor?

I love working with students. Being an academic advisor provides me the opportunity to directly work with students to support their academic learning, personal growth, and professional development.

Where is your favorite spot on campus (and why)?

My favorite spot on campus is MSU Diary Store. More than the best ice cream in the world, it is a wonderful place to see how MSU engages with people and local communities and how people enjoy their time at MSU.

What does "Spartans Will" mean to you?

To me, “Spartans Will” means leverage your potentials at MSU and make differences to yourself and the world.

What is an interesting fact about you?

I am a foodie who loves eating, not cooking.
