Stratton C. Lee III (he/him/his)

Director of University Advising
leestrat@msu.edu

Stratton (he/him/his) is from Montclair, New Jersey, and came to Michigan State University in 2001. Stratton is a two-time alumnus of MSU, earning a B.S. in Animal Science and an M.A. in Counseling. Stratton has over seventeen years of experience at MSU in higher education and academic advising. Stratton has worked as the journalism advisor in the School of Journalism, exploratory advisor in the NSSC, and assistant director of programs in CANR. These experiences and countless university service roles have equipped him to be a specialist in exploration.

What is your favorite spot on campus (and why)?

I enjoy West Circle Drive. The historic buildings, the park-like atmosphere. I enjoy a nice walk in the spring, people-watching in the semester, and bumping into campus friends in the gardens, at the tower, or on their way to Grand River. The old charm of north campus is unique to the Spartan experience.

What is the best advice you've ever been given?

“Take your lunch, breaks, and vacations. If you died today, they may mourn for 5 minutes before making plans to post your position. You cannot take the work with you, nor do you want to.”

What is an interesting fact about you?

I rode competitively on the MSU Equestrian Team. I loved traveling and competing with some of the nation’s top riders. I loved my team and what we accomplished together.
