Ashley Shafer

Ashley Shafer

Ashley is from Youngstown, Ohio. She attended Kent State University and received her Bachelor of Science in Public Health in 2015 and Master of Education in Higher Education Administration in 2017. Ashley is passionate about assisting exploratory students in discovering their dreams and goals. She is excited to work with our exploring Spartans!
I enjoy assisting students in discovering their passions and interests. It's overwhelming to begin the process of major exploration and figuring out what you want to do in life. I look forward to helping my students begin and navigate that process.
It gets better - it really does.
In 2020, I was the recipient of the Excellence in Advising - Advising Program award at the NACADA Region 4 Conference in Tampa, FL. I was awarded for exploratory student programming and initiatives.
I entered university as a first-generation and independent student. Because of this, I'm passionate about making our Spartans from all backgrounds feel welcomed and included. You're never alone.
